November 12, 2018 – These last few days have been very important. Marilù and I talked for a long time, talking about our future. We agreed on one thing: we don’t like the life we lead. And then, after months of meditation, the die is cast: we will leave! Now the hard part begins. It is true that for months we have begun to hypothesize, plan, write, but now we have to start getting serious. There are so many things that need to be defined. The first, which is our fixed point, is that we will leave the house where we are renting at the beginning of April 2019.
The date is not accidental. We are a bit tense with the economic income, and we know that by the end of the year there will be no secondary income which, however, allowed us to cover the expenses. At the moment, with the limited time available, we have no way to replace it and so we will find ourselves in difficulty to honor all our commitments. Just to help you understand: we have the house rent (€600), the installment to pay Falkor (€327) and an installment of a previous loan (€187) as fixed monthly payments. We need to get rid of the rent.
Having paid three months in advance when we came to live in Arese, the idea is to stop paying just 90 days before leaving. We know that it is not fair towards the landlord, who holds those three months in his hands as a guarantee for any damage when we leave, but since the house is a gem and he will not be able to charge us anything we will move in this way.
Then all the other “little chores” will come: notify family members, relatives and friends, talk to the partner, find a way to sell the bar business, empty the house, prepare the motorhome, work on our editorial project and so on. But the hardest thing was making the decision. And this is done!
