July 4, 2019 – We don’t know why, but we always end up writing posts when something is wrong. It is certainly easier to “let off steam” when dealing with negative moments, and it is also more difficult to find time to devote to writing when everything is fine, and you have to work. In any case, the meaning of this blog is also to convey to those who are considering the possibility of becoming a fulltimer information that may be useful. And what is more useful than knowing what can be encountered?
We met the mega-storm yesterday. We were in Arese, stationed next to the house of Paolo’s parents, since the whole week at the end is dedicated to activities that gravitate to the Milanese province. At the end of the classic sultry day, a little fresh wind picked up. How nice: let’s eat in the garden! The time to get on Falkor to retrieve the dishes and all hell broke loose… We quickly closed all the windows and skyroofs and found ourselves for half an hour deafening ourselves with shots that looked like guns, praying that the hail wouldn’t did damage.
Unfortunately, he did. The most obvious – which forced us to make an immediate repair – is the literal destruction of the 28×28 cm skyroof in the bathroom. Then we “lost” the cover of the external electrical socket, cut cleanly, and the cover of the Truma wall chimney, broken at the edges. And then there are the left side wall and the rear wall, pockmarked (thankfully only slightly) by hailstones. Seeing what happened to the cars that were nearby, we also managed well…
